My fourth plugin is now in the wordpress.org repository, `Fake Login Area`!

This one is kind of a fun one: it lets people easily implement what appears to be a login form to a protected user area, when there really isn’t one there. I had recently come across a neat jQuery plugin SweetAlert and wanted to use it for something, but didn’t have an idea of what. Then we had a client doing a site migration, and we were converting the contents of their website from their old platform into WordPress.

We found a login link in their top ancillary menu, and asked what was hiding behind it. Turns out the client had no real idea; but they didn’t want to give up having the link there either. We eventually talked them out of it, but it still got my wheels turning and was the inspiration for this plugin.

In the near future I would love to provide more options for customization with the plugin, since right now site admins are stuck with the verbiage and colors that I have in place in the modal window. But iterative development practices said to stop where I was and push out version 1.0, and build from here, so that’s what I did.
